Mirpur: Heavy downpour accompanied by thundershowers threatened to play spoilsport in the final of the Asia Cup T20 between India and Bangladesh here at the Shere-e-Bangla Stadium at Mirpur in Dhaka on Sunday.

The toss has been delayed and at the time of reporting, the rain had stopped and covers were being removed. The pitch inspection would take place in another 35 minutes.

The grand finale saw an anti-climax of sorts when there was a slight drizzle in the beginning with grounds-men covering the pitch area.

To make the matter worse, the flood lights at the stadium are not working, plunging the stadium into darkness. If there is no play the trophy will be shared between the two sides on account of no reserve day.
