Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has made it a habit of playing the blame game for every election defeat. So here are some excuses we felt he could give for the massive loss in the MCD polls.
In the season of mistaken identity, many mistook Arvind Kejriwal for actor Arvind Swamy, who ridiculed the decision to give the National Award to Akshay Kumar, and hence decided not to vote for AAP.
Day before voting many people saw the horrible movie titled ‘Aap Mujhe Achche Lagne Lage’. That was enough to dissuade them from voting for Kejriwal’s party.
Many felt EVM stands for Electronic VIP Machine, and hence did not turn out for voting.
Others were confused. Although broom is AAP’s symbol, it is Narendra Modi who has been spotted with it more often, and hence they decided to vote for BJP.
Many mistook MCD for an oft-used expletive, and did not head out to vote at all.
Voters saw RCB getting out for 49 in an IPL match. This is exactly the number of days the first AAP government was in power in Delhi. So, they saw this as an omen not to vote for Kejriwal’s party.
