  • UMC demolishes houses built on govt land

    Ujjain : The Ujjain Municipal Corporation (UMC) team demolished several houses built on Government land at MR 5 in front of St Paul’s school on Saturday. About 50 houses were built on the disputed land, and 40 new houses were under construction. The action caused chaos amongst the people living in these houses.

    Ujjain : Contractual health workers who went on a strike demanding permanent jobs and reinstatement of expelled workers, cooked food at the place of strike on Saturday, and ate half ‘chapatis’ as a mark of protest.

  • Man taken hostage, robbed at Tarana

    Ujjain : Three unknown men kept a man identified as ThanniramMeena, 40 a resident of Dosa Rajasthan, hostage and stolehis tractor, thresher, cutter pump and Rs 20000 cash. The robbed machinery accounted for more than Rs 10 lakh. The incident occurred 3 km away from Tarana on Friday evening.

    Ujjain : The 23 rd ‘Kabir mahotsava’ was organised at Sevadham Ashram by Sadguru Kabir seva shodh sansthan and sevadham, jointly on Saturday. Artistes of national and international fame performed and sang devotional songs based on saint Kabir’s poetries. Sevadham founder Sudhir Bhai Goyal said, many guests had arrived at Sevadham from Delhi, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Maharashtra to celebrate the function.

    Ujjain: Despite the Government transferring Aadhar registration and modification centres to post-offices, people continue to face problems due to lack of facilities.   • 74 students selected in GDC career fair

    Ujjain : A career fair was organised at Government Girls Postgraduate Degree College on February 23 and February 24. Seventy four students have been selected out of 156 students by different companies and 8 self employment organizations, during the fair. The fair was inaugurated by MLA Mohan Yadav on Friday.

  • Health checkup camp organized

    Ujjain : A free health checkup camp was organised on Saturday by CHL Hospital and Deep Jyoti health and education social welfare society jointly at Vidyapati Nagar in Sai Mandir.
