    Ujjain: A group of corporators of Congress party met municipal commissioner Ashish Singh on Thursday and expressed their anxiousness over supply of contaminated drinking water. The group of corporators led by leader of opposition, Rajendra Vashishtha, asked the commissioner to ensure supply of pure and treated water as well as regular cleaning of water storage tanks.

    Ujjain: Trading of vegetables at Chimanganj Krishi Upaj Mandi came to a halt on Thursday following a dispute between farmers and labourers. According to Mandi president Bahadur Singh Bormundala, the matter has been sorted out and trading of vegetables will begin from Friday.

  • Ujjain: Oil warehouse catches fire

    Ujjain: Fire broke out in an oil warehouse located at Doodhtalai area near Gurudwara early morning on Thursday. The fire brigade was called in when smoke and flames were seen engulfing the warehouse. Two fire fighters and fire engines controlled the fire within an hour.

    Ujjain: BSNL employees in serial hunger strike

    Ujjain: Employees of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) Ujjain went on a serial hunger strike on Tuesday. Over 100 employees are observing a strike under the joint aegis of Sanchar Nigam Executive Association and All India Graduate Engineering and Telecom Officers Association demanding standard pay scales.
