    Faridabad: One person was arrested on grounds of raping a 15-year old girl here on Monday. The minor was picked up in an auto and raped on Saturday, following which a complaint was registered. The arrested individual is reportedly known to the minor, as he lives in the vicinity.

    Chandigarh: Accused of pocketing sand mine contracts worth crores on his staff’s names, Punjab Power and Irrigation Minister Rana Gurjit Singh has resigned from his post.     Madurai (Tamil Nadu): Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami and Deputy Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam have reached in Madurai’s Alanganallur to attend a Jallikattu event. Jallikattu is a bull taming festival, which was banned by the Supreme Court 2014 after the complaints of extreme animal cruelty.     Chennai: A 19-year-old youth, who had come to see ‘Jallikattu’, the traditional bull sport, was gored to death on Monday by a raging bull in Tamil Nadu’s Madurai district. The youth was standing at the bull collection point (end point) and watching the event. There, the bull, after completing its run, suddenly attacked him.
