    Bhubaneswar: With the recovery of three   more bodies on Monday, the death toll in cyclone Titli and the subsequent flood in Odisha rose to 27, even as relief and restoration activities have been stepped up, officials said. The three bodies were found in the worst hit Raigada block of Gajapati district, the officials said.

  • Zika virus cases in Rajasthan rise to 72

    Jaipur: Twelve new cases of Zika virus were detected in Jaipur Monday, taking the total number of infected people to 72, a Rajasthan health department official said.  The figures were issued after a review meeting chaired by Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) medical and health, Veenu Gupta.  “Sixty out of the total 72 patients are healthy after treatment,” the official said after the meeting where measures required to contain the situation were discussed.

    Mumbai: The Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust on Monday launched a probe to know how a cargo ship rammed into a jetty on Saturday afternoon, an official said. The incident occurred at the port’s Fourth Container Terminal-BMCTPL, which is managed by the Port of Singapore Authority. The vessel’s protection and indemnity insurers have analysed the extent of damage to both the ship and the jetty.
