'Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya'is the first film of Ritesh Deshmukh and Genelia D'Souza as a married couple. A light- hearted romantic comedy, the film will see the couple not only play a couple on screen, but also Genelia playing a role, which she is best known for : that of a bubbly, cheerful and tomboyish Mini. In the film, Mini is just not all looks and wit, but also the beneficiary of her fathers enormous wealth, and a bona fide Canadian citizen – making her the cherry every guy in town wants. But Mini is in no hurry to get hitched. This, however, is not what her father, Mr Bhatti ( played by Tinu Anand) thinks, who travels to India with one and one purpose in head: To find the perfect groom for Mini, as he wants her to tie a knot as soon as possible.
Ritesh on the other hand plays the simpleton Viren, an employee of Bhatti. Hailing from a small town, Viren dreams to earn big money, save a lot and one day start his own business. But for most of the film, is fixed to his rickshaw.
The real fun starts when a soft spoken Viren meets mischievous Mini, who in an attempt to escape the wedding pressure, runs off with Viren in tow, and then forces him to call it a case of kidnapping.
The two cook up a ransom money to make the plan, a success.
On the journey, they meet the affable Chaudhary ( Om Puri).
Its somewhere between stopping at the Chaudharys house and the rest of the run, that Mini and Viren become good friends and love blossoms. Do they confess love? Do they get married? Are they really caught? Is what the film is all about.
Would the movie work? We give it a mix verdict. One of the strongest point of the film is the lead pair, who recently became husband and wife in real life. So their chemistry will be something to look out for. This is also their third film together after the duo debuted with 'Tujhe Meri Kasam'and then 'Masti'. The film also has a sizzling item number by Veena Malik.
However, 'Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya'will have to face tough competition from yet another romantic comedy – 'Jodi Breakers', which stars Bipasha Basu and R Madhavan.
