Volunteers of the Mira- Bhayandar unit of the India Against Corruption ( IAC) on Sunday distributed clothes, toys, notebooks and other stationery items to the underprivileged locals living in the tribal dominated villages of Dahanu district.

As a part of the " Ek Jodi Kapda" initiative, IAC volunteers had collected more than 5,000 pair of clothes, toys and stationery items from the Mira Bhayandar area. The collected material was distributed to villagers of Sivan, Aina, Dhibon and Ohiliwadi in Dahanu on occasion of Maha Shivratri.

" We know that donating clothes will not end the numerous problems faced by the poor villagers, but it was one of the coldest winters and we thought of not only helping them out, but by doing so also try and establish positive vibes with them so that we can successfully initiate various developmental schemes for uplifting their living conditions." says IAC volunteer, Sauyma Ritesh.

Apart from elaborated self- sustainable basket making programme, for poor tribal folk, the IAC has chalked out other programmes, including health check- up and alcoholic deaddiction camps.
