A forest guard of Choral Range, Pawan Joshi, threatened to immolate self here at public hearing, on Wednesday. He alleged that the forest department had withheld his promotion citing a department enquiry.

As per the information furnished by Joshi, he has been undergoing mental harassment since 2003. He said that some senior officers including OP Sharma were harassing him since then.

'A fake investigation was launched against me in 2003 by Sharma and other officials. 'I am punished despite being clean.

They prepared a CD as evidence to take action against me but they are not providing me a copy of it,'Joshi alleged.

'The incident occurred when I was posted at Mhow and a Ranger of Indore OP sharma was posted in Indore. A fake complaint was filed against me for failure to nab a wood smuggler. A department enquiry was ALSO conducted against me,'added Joshi.

Commenting about the partial attitude of the forest department, Joshi said that the DFO personally heard my case but the CCF was favoring Sharma.
