50 stenos for Mantralaya, 20 project managers for NVDA

The state cabinet, on Wednesday, approved a plan to the tune of Rs 769.72 crore for electrification in 16 districts under the centrally- sponsored Rajiv Gandhi electrification scheme.

Electricity will be reached to small hamlets and villages in 18 districts - left uncovered in the first phase of the scheme in Madhya Pradesh, government sources said, Chhatarpur and Satna districts too have been included in the scheme.

More than 4.79 lakh families living below the poverty line will be given electric connection free of cost, said the sources. The cabinet, chaired by chief minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, gave its nod to a proposal to fill up 50 posts of stenographers in Mantralaya through direct recruitment and extended the tenure of Justice Kochar commission for union carbide gas leak incident.

Another proposal for appointing two members in commercial tax appellate board and creation of 16 new posts in the board, was approved. The cabinet sanctioned 20 posts of project managers in NVDA, on contractual basis and recruitment through MP Professional Examination Board.

Besides, three posts of data entry operators were too created for law and legislative work department.

The cabinet sanctioned land for town hall construction in Mandsaur and road construction under BOT in Rewa.

The cabinet decided to set up departmental inquiry against retired commercial tax officer MS Mandloi, posted in Khandwa circle for revenue loss and financial irregularities.
