Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. won the award for 'Indian Pharmaceutical Company of the Year'at the third edition of the Alexandria Frost & Sullivan 2011 India Healthcare Excellence Awards, which were announced on Thursday night.
Dr. B Soma Raju, Chairman, Care Hospitals was honoured with the 'Lifetime Achievement Award'. Dr. Naresh Trehan, Chairman Medanta- The Medicity won the 'Frost & Sullivan Healthcare Entrepreneur of the Year'award.
The awards night and banquet on Thursday evening saw leaders in the sector coming together to recognise achievement in the healthcare industry.
Other winners include Fortis Healthcare & Hospital Group, which won for the second year in a row the 'Healthcare Services Provider Company of the Year'. Roche Diagnostics India won the award as the 'Diabetes Detection Company of there year'for the third year in the row. Super Religare Laboratories took away the award for 'Diagnostic Services Provider Company of the Year'. Siro Clinpharm Pvt. Ltd was named the 'Indian Clinical Research Organisation of the year'. " These awards have a wider context in terms of our recipients touching one of the basic aspects of human well being, that is, health, and also working towards making the country a healthier and productive nation through their products and services," said Sandeep Sinha, Director, Healthcare Practice, South Asia and Middle East for Frost & Sullivan.
