Thane: Two private buses collide on Ghodbunder Road, close shave for 35 passengers

A major accident avoided when a bus carrying 35 passengers just managed a narrow escape on Tuesday morning. The bus crashed into another bus on Ghodbunder Road in Thane. Both the buses were heading in the same direction but the bus carrying 35-passengers just bumped into another bus, fortunately the other bus had no passengers.

“The accident took place around 8.30 am, between a passenger bus that was heading towards Borivali from Thane and an empty bus going to Kashimira, Mira Road,” said an official to Hindustan Times from Kasarvadavli police station in Thane. “The Regional Disaster Management Cell team arrived at the spot soon with one fire engine, one rescue vehicle and one ambulance.”

Official suspects that accident took place when the bus carrying passengers speed up. Driver Bhiku Das, 23 who’s bus crashed into the bus ahead got injured on his leg, and has been admitted to Kevalya hospital in Thane. “His condition is stable,” the official added.
