Mumbai : A police complaint has been filed at the Mumbai crime branch cyber cell against actor Rishi Kapoor for posting nude and pornographic image of a minor boy on his twitter account @chintskap.
Advocate Afroz Malik, President of Jai Ho Foundation, and advocate Adil Khatri, General Secretary of Jai Ho Foundation have submitted a complaint letter on Saturday to the cyber cell demanding that a First Information Report (FIR) should be registered immediately against Kapoor.(A copy of the letter is available with the Free Press Journal).
According to the complaint letter seeks Kapoor should be booked under relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) and Information Technology Act for posting indecent, nude and vulgar picture of the minor child.
Speaking to the Free Press Journal, Khatri said, “Mumbai Police should register a case under POCSO Act since the image is highly objectionable. It is a nude image of a child with a wire inserted in his private parts. Mr.Rishi Kapoor should apologise. A FIR should be registered under stringent POCSO Act so that other celebrities don’t feel that they are above the law.”
According to an official of the cyber police, “An inquiry is being conducted. A First Information Report has not been registered as yet.”
The complaint letter has also been submitted to the Mumbai Police Commissioner and the Secretary of Women and Child Development. The image which went viral got circulated to more than 2.6 million people and was retweeted 62 times.
