Pressure on parents to withdraw case

Mumbai :  In spite of an FIR being registered and arrest of school teacher Michelle Mark Anthony of Columba Girls High School, school authorities looking to withdrew the complaint are still approaching the parents of the five-year-old girl who was caned by her.

Around four men who represented the school authorities tried to convince Prashant Bugde, father of Princessa (5), for eight hours to withdraw the complaint on Thursday.

However when the school authorities failed to convince Prashant, it started approaching the mother of the victim, Reshma Bugde, who is at her mother’s home for maternity leave. Reshma, who works as an HR executive in a private firm, said, “On Friday at around 7.15 pm, Miss Helen a retired KG teacher, of St Colamba High school, called on her cell phone. She said, she was curious to know about what has happened”.

According to Reshma, “While ending the call, Miss Helen, asked me, kyaa aap log case pichey ley saktey hain toh main baat karoon school management sey, (I will talk to the management if you are ready to withdraw your complaint)”.

Michelle was arrested on Friday and was granted bail by the Girgaum court on the same day. When FPJ tried to contact the school authorities they kept this correspondent waiting at the gate and remained unavailable for their comment.
