Navi Mumbai crime branch arrest two fake government officers

Mumbai: Navi Mumbai crime branch unit 2 have arrested two persons for posing as officers of Crime Intelligence Force (CIF) and Intelligence Investigation Agency (IIA) on Wednesday.

Mahesh Madhukar Bhadke (25) and Umesh Laxman Mohite (32) have been arrested by the police. They have been remanded to police custody until Feb 15. They have been arrested for cheating (Section 420), personating a public servant (Section 170), wearing garb or carrying token used by public servant with fraudulent intent (Section 171), wrongful confinement (Section 342),intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace (Section 504), criminal intimidation (Section 506) and common intention (Section 34) of the Indian Penal Code.

A FIR was registered by the complainant Hari Om Chaurasiya at Khandeshwar police station. Bhadke was the Director of the fake agency located at Vakratund housing society at Vikaswadi at Panvel. He was running the agency since November 2017 along with accomplice Mohite.
