Mumbai: Truck rams into BEST bus, no casulty


Mumbai: A truck driver rammed into a Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) bus at Mulund (W) on Thursday morning. The accident occurred on Mahatma Gandhi Road near Janta grains store at 6 am.

According to Mulund police, truck driver Subhash Mane (27) who was speeding heavily lost control and rammed into a BEST bus and then onto the footpath. The entrance of MK Shah jewellers and Greenlaxmi store was partly damaged in the accident. Luckily, nobody was injured.

The glass panes and the front body of the BEST bus was completely damaged. The truck driver’s cabin was damaged. The registration number of the truck is MH-04-2217. It was registered under Pradip Trading company.

An FIR has been registered for rash driving (Section 279), causing hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others (Section 337) of the Indian Penal Code and driving dangerously (Section 184) of the Motor Vehicle Act. The BEST driver Navnath Bhosale had approached the police to register the FIR against Mane.

Sripad Kale, Senior Police Inspector, Mulund police station, said, “Nobody was injured. The accused truck driver has been booked for speeding and rash driving.”
