Thousands of kaali-peelis taxi are on strike today at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport. The reason behind this strike is parking issue.

AL Quadros, a taxi union leader, said to HT “the cabbies are in talks with GVK, the company that runs the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport”.

More than 2,000 cabbies have gone on strike and have stopped pre-paid taxi booking from the international airport, said another union leader.

Passengers arriving by flights at the airport were inconvenienced as they were unable to book the Kaali Peelis and Cool cabs for the journey. Those who tried booking fleet cabs or aggregator cabs also faced problems as the demand was more than supply, sources said.
