Mumbai: Sneak Peek of Ganesh Galli and Chinchpokli Chintamani Ganpati idols

Mumbai: The Ganesh festival is coming on August 25, and the most famous Ganesh mandals like Lalbaughcha Raja, Ganesh Galli and Chinchpokli Chintamani are work on getting things in order. The Ganesh murti work is finished, and only painting work is remaining.

This year, Chintamani idol murti has Ganesh seated like a Raja on his Raj Gaddi. His agaman sohla will be this Sunday. Every year thousands of people come on Agman sohla of Chintamani at Parel workshop. The ganesh idol was sculptured by Late Vijay Khatu before he passed away. After his death, Khatu’s team is completing the work. The daughter of Khatu, Reshma, who is carry forward the idol sculpture legacy has said, “We will complete the work on time, and idols will be delivered as my father had promised to the mandals.”

Meanwhile, Ganesh Galli will be celebrating 90 years of Mumbaicha Raja. This year, the idol of Ganesh will be in lord Vishnu avatar. The same idol was made in the year 1985.

 

The Lalbaughcha Raja idol work is also in progress. It was being said that 2017 Lalbaugcha Raja will be in Krishna avatar. The picture went viral on internet and created chaos among devotees. Every year, Lalbaugcha Raja’s sculpture is the same but the prabhawal changes to make it more attractive and suitable to Ganesha idol. This year, Lalbaugcha Raja completes 84 years. The 10-day long festival is celebrated with great fervour in Maharashtra.
