A 24-year-old MBBS student was arrested by Kamothe police on Sunday for ramming her car into a vehicle and then getting into an altercation with the police, that too in a drunken state.

According to Mid-Day, the student was identified as Radha Ramsingh Jadeja (24). The incident took place on Sunday at on Kamothe bridge section of the Sion-Panvel Highway, when she was on her way home from a party. Radha was driving a Toyota Yaris and was unable to control her vehicle. She allegedly dashed the vehicle into a Wagon R ahead of her.

A police official from Kamothe police station told Mid-Day, “When the other car’s owner complained to the traffic police about her, the cops asked Jadeja to get out of the car, but she refused to listen. We found she was in a drunken state, so our women constable checked her breath with an alcometer, post which it was found that she was driving after consuming alcohol higher than the permissible limit.”

Later, she fought with the cops for hours, after which the police called their team of women constables to take her to the police station. The cops then asked her to call her parents. They arrived in the morning and she was later let out on bail. The police have registered an FIR against her for drunk and rash driving.
