Mumbai: Four arrested after NCP clash

Mumbai: The Deonar police arrested four persons for rioting on Wednesday, in a clash that broke out between Nawab Malik and Sanjay Dina Patil, leaders of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) during a rally in Deonar on Tuesday.

“We have arrested four persons on Wednesday. The matter is being further investigated,” said Dattatray Shinde, Senior Police Inspector, Deonar police station.

Shinde, however, refused to disclose the names of those arrested.


The four persons have been arrested for rioting under Section 145, Section 146 and Section 147, Section 351(assault) , Section 506( criminal intimidation) and  Section 34(common intention) of the Indian Penal Code.
