Mumbai: Antop Hill cops come to BMC’s rescue

Mumbai: The long arm of the law was forced to lend a helping hand to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation in tackling potholes. Five constables from Antop Hill police station filled potholes outside GTB Nagar railway station and Pratiksha Nagar, Sion, on Thursday.

According to constable Ramesh Bhosale of Antop Hill railway police station, “Since we have been conducting nakabandis regularly, two persons were injured last week after their bike skid over a pothole. Since the BMC has not done anything about it, we decided to fill up the potholes. Especially at night, potholes filled with water are not visible and bikers end up risking their lives. Such incidents should not take place. We thought it was our social responsibility towards the citizens.”
