Mumbai: Yesteryear Bollywood actress Zeenat Aman filed a complaint of stalking and criminal intimidation against a businessman at Juhu police station on January 29. According to the police the accused is her business partner who is absconding after learning that a case has been registered against him.
A senior police officer said the accused is known to the actress. “The accused is 38-year-old businessman and he is absconding. They both know each other, but are not in talking terms due to some differences,” added the officer.
The 64-year-old actress approached Mumbai police on Monday and lodged a complaint. In her complaint, the actress has alleged that the accused, Sarfaraaz alias Aman Khanna, sent her vulgar messages on her WhatsApp and also created ruckus with security guards on several occasions outside her elite apartment in Juhu. The police officer said the accused, also a resident of upscale Juhu, kept calling the actress and even used to stalk her even after she had asked him against doing so.
Police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) under Indian Penal Code sections for stalking (354D), word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman (509) against the businessman. No arrest has been made so far.
