Mumbai: A 24-year-old woman was allegedly molested during a star-studded IPL 2018 match between Mumbai Indians and Delhi Daredevils at Wankhede stadium on Saturday evening. Confirming the incident, the Zonal Deputy Commissioner of Police Manoj Kumar said the man had touched her inappropriately while she was watching the match with her friends.

The accused Gendraj Dadulal Satnami (26) was arrested after the lady raised an alarm. But not without some commotion as the men in khaki had to chase him for some 200 metres. Later, he was hauled to Marine Lines police station and booked for molestation under the relevant section of the IPC.

The incident took place near the Sachin Tendulkar stand. Satnami, a resident of south Mumbai’s Masjid Bunder area, works for a contractor and was distributing water at food stalls in the stadium. In her complaint, the woman, who works in a  private company, said the man touched her inappropriately while she was watching the match with her friends. The sources said the victim was a Mumbai Indian supporter. On Sunday, Satnami was produced before the holiday court which has sent him into two-day police remand.
