Mumbai: Students opting for Secondary School Certificate (SCC) board may now have an option to study international curriculum through a private board within the state. The state education ministry has proposed to start private board in schools following the SCC board pattern to provide an additional option for students and parents.
The state education ministry aims to provide syllabus of an international curriculum within the parameters of Maharashtra. Students will be able to pass Class 10 through an international private board from the state itself instead of opting for other private boards which are either centralised or international.
This proposal has been sent to academicians and education experts. Vinod Tawde, state education minister for school and higher education, said, “We want to provide an additional option for students within the state itself. Students need not drift to another state or board for international curriculum.
