Mumbai: Sheena Bora murder case accused Indrani Mukerjea’s allegation of being beaten up by Byculla prison officials does seem to be true. According to the senior medical officer of the JJ Hospital she did have injuries on her arms and legs which were in all likelihood caused by a blunt weapon.
Indrani, booked for rioting in the women’s wing of Byculla prison along with other inmates, had alleged two days back that she was beaten up by jail officials and threatened with sexual assault after the death of a convict sparked protest in the prison.
Special CBI judge J.C. Jagdale on June 28 said that Indrani be first taken for a medical examination and later to a police station to file her complaint. The medical examination was conducted at the JJ Hospital.
