Mumbai : The State government has decided to widen the crop loan net and also bring maximum number of farmers under the crop insurance net, agriculture minister Eknath Khadse told here on Thursday after the pre-Kharif planning and review meeting.
“The monsoon is expected to arrive in time, between 10-20 June, across the state and accordingly all the arrangements regarding adequate availability of fertilizers, seeds and other agricultural equipments has been made,” Khadse said. Several minister of the state cabinet along with district level officials of the agriculture department were present for the meeting that was presided over by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
“Water scarcity increased the intensity of drought this year. But, the Kharif season is expected to bring hopes. Bringing in more and more farmers in the crop loan net would bring good days to the agriculture sector,” Fadnavis said as he appealed the officials to work on a mission mode to make the Kharif season successful.
