Gang kidnaps, assaults 19-year-old collegian

Mumbai : A 19-year-old college student was assaulted by a 30-year -old man at Kandivali on Saturday. The accused and the victim are history-sheeters and have criminal cases registered against them at Samta Nagar police station.

The accused Deepak Pandey (30), who is known to the victim Dipanshu Guddu Sinh, called Sinh and asked him to meet him near Thakur College gate at Kandivali at 3: 30 am. Pandey, along with his men, arrived in a car and took Sinh along. They took him to the Indra Estate and assaulted him with an iron rod.


According to Anil Mane, Senior Police Inspector, Samata Nagar police station, “Several cases of assault have been registered against Pandey. They both have criminal records and are notorious for picking up fights and have their own gangs.”

Sinh has been rushed to Shatabdi hospital at Kandivali where he is being presently undergoing treatment. Sinh has suffered injuries on his head, nose, legs and hands. He has suffered a fracture on his left leg.

The Samata Nagar police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) for attempt to murder. Pandey and Sinh are residents of Samta nagar at Kandivali. Sinh is a student of Thakur College.
