Colaba Fire Update: 15 fire-tenders, Navy pressed into action

Metro house fire in Mumbai

A major fire has broken out in a building near the Regal Cinema in South Mumbai’s Colaba area. The entire area has been cordoned off, and traffic movement has been diverted through other routes.

According to TV reports, eight fire engines have been rushed to the spot and efforts are taken to put out the blaze.

The reason for the fire accident is not known as of now.


According to latest updates, two people have been rescued, and now 15-odd fire engines has pressed into the service.

The civil police and navy officials have also joined the rescue operations.

The fire is said to be erupted on one of the top floors in the commercial building, where the Metro showroom is there.

Anxious on-lookers, have clicked photos and videos of the fire accident and shared the same on social media sites like Twitter etc.

The Metro building at Colaba Causeway houses some of the popular commerical brands including Cafe Mondegar and McDonalds.
