Mumbai : Family members of BJP corporator Kamlesh Yadav were admitted to a hospital on Friday after they were infected with swine flu. Even as doctors said Yadav’s wife and son are stable, the corporator has blamed the BMC for failing to take proper precautions in controlling the menace of H1N1.
Yadav said the hospital in which he has admitted his family members has more than 20 swine flu patients. “The number of cases are increasing drastically but the administration has failed to provide proper treatment. Most of the hospitals have fewer beds due to which they are denying admissions to patients,”
The official data of the civic body substantiate Yadav’s claims. From January to June this year, more than 490 cases of H1N1 have been reported in the city. The data also said 16 people have died due to the disease.
NCP corporator Saida Khan said the civic body is lacking in efforts to control H1N1 cases but ruling Shiv Sena has maintained that there is no rise in swine flu.
