Thane: Bhivandi crime branch unit II arrested 10 accused in various theft cases from Thane district. The police department has recovered 13 gold chains, 28 mobile phones, and material worth Rs 70,000 used in tar adulteration, including a tanker. The accused were presented during a press conference on Wednesday in Thane.
Bhivandi crime branch unit II senior police inspector Sheetal Raut received information from sources and the unit arrested two chain snatchers from Irani basti, Kalyan .The police recovered 400 gm gold worth Rs 11 lakh 20,000.
The accused Ali Akhtar and Hasim Hussain has been involved in 13 cases of chain snatching, said Raut.
In another incident of mobile theft registered in Kapurbavadi police station, 3 were arrested by Bhivandi crime branch unit II.
The accused were arrested from Bhivandi where they reside. They are involved in 10 cases of mobile theft. 28 mobile phones of various companies were recovered from them. The recovery is worth more than Rs 3 lakh.
Bhivandi crime branch unit was investigating a case of tar adulteration registered at Kongao police station.
While investigating the matter, the unit arrested five accused from Temghar red-handed. The police recovered a tanker, tar, powder, mixer machine and generator about Rs 72 lakh.
