Ujjain: An essay writing competition on ‘Jago Bharat’ campaign was organised by Roopantaran to mark its 8th Yuva Diwas 2018, on the occasion of Swami Vivekananda’s 155th birthday anniversary. The event took place at Kalidas Sanskrit Academy.
Chief guest and joint revenue commissioner Prateek Sonwalkar motivated students and Roopantaran as well, through a beautiful song, “chal musafir teri manzil dur hai to kya hua.” He also requested Roopantaran and participants from all other schools to work for the revival of the rivers Narmada and Kshipra in Dewas as well and also assured full support of the local administration towards the cause.
A total of 34 schools and 300 students participated in the competition. 54 finalists were selected from 28 schools. Palak Jain, a class 12 student from Gyan Sagar Academy stood first. For presentation of her thoughts on Swami Vivekananda’s quote “ek vichaar lo, use apna jeevan bana lo, uske bare me socho, uske sapne dekho, usko jiyo, apne mastiksha, maspeshiyon, nason, sharir ke har hisse ko us vichaar me dub jane do. Yahi safal hone ka tarika hai.” She won cash prize of Rs 5000.
Rashi Chouhan and Kashish Lalwani came second and third, respectively, winning Rs 3000 and 2000 cash prizes. 6 consolation prizes were given to Sanjana Khatri, Darshana Mittal, Gaurav Rathore, Ritika Shah, Aditi Singh Jadoune and Aditya Trivedi. Guests were Balyogi Umeshnath Maharaj, , Barkatullah University Bhopal vice-chancellor Prof Pramod Berma, Dr Anurag Titov, Ramesh Sabu, Manoj Tiwari and Vinod Sharma. Judges were Amita Jain, Mayank Shukla and Amit Marwah. Compering was done by Suvigya Jain, Saloni Sargara and Anjali Patne while Rajeev Pahwa proposed a vote of thanks.
