Ujjain: Residents of Kshipra Vihar Colony knock door of ‘jansunwai’ for potable water supply


Ujjain: Collector Manish Singh on Tuesday conducted hearing on 150 applications under the weekly jansunwai at Brahaspati Bhawan. Residents of Kshipra Vihar Colony, located on Dewas Road, filed an application before the collector and complained that contaminated water is being supplied in their locality for the past few days.

The residents of the colony had taken water connection from PHED a few months ago. In this regard, they have also complained to officials of the department, but no action has been taken so far. Residents of the colony are forced to drink dirty water. Due to this there is also fear of spread of serious water borne diseases. Therefore, in this context, the residents made an attempt to draw attention of the collector. Collector directed the municipal commissioner to take immediate action.

During the jansunwai, Sitabai wife of Janakilal, a resident of Namdarpura Bherunala submitted an application that she was assaulted by her son any time and she was treated abusively. She informed that she earn her wages through laboring work. The misbehaviour of her son is increasing day by day. Therefore, proceed against him. On this, SDM Ujjain was instructed to investigate the matter and take strict action against the culprit.

Likewise, Gulab Bai wife of Narayan, a resident of village Nipaniyagoyal, presented application that she had given Rs 5000 to the sarpanch of her village four years back to get the accommodation, but by today the sarpanch had neither provided the benefit of the residential facility nor her amount has been returned. Chief executive officer Ghatia was asked to take necessary action.
