Ujjain: Cabinet ministers attend ‘bhumi pujan’ of Budhwariya haat market

Ujjain: The ‘bhumi-pujan’ of the proposed state of art Budhwariya haat market was done by minister of urban administration and development, Maya Singh and energy minister Paras Jain on Thursday. The haat market is to be constructed on the existing Budhwariya market with an alloted fund of Rs 3.67 crore.

Addressing the attendees at the ceremony, Maya Singh elaborated on various projects planned in Ujjain under the smart city project. She said, “Ujjain will soon be developed as modern city keeping its religious heritage intact. There will be no dearth of budget for proposed projects like water supply, parks, smart transportation, lighting, cycling zones and many others. All departments will be computerized to ensure transparency in the system”. She also spoke about the Deendayal Antyoday Rasoi Yojana in her address.

During her visit, the minister attended an inauguration ceremony of the newly constructed old age day care centre ‘Anand Dham’at Ved Nagar and granted a fund of Rs 55 lakh for the construction of a gymnasium at the centre. She also ensured that the project for the development of Govardhan Sagar will soon be initiated. Mayor Meena Jonwal, MLA Mohan Yadav, UMC speaker Sonu Gehlot, BJP chief Iqbal Singh Gandhi, collector in-charge Ashish Singh and ward corporators Karuna Jain and Santosh Vyas were present.

Singh informed about UDA projects

Minister of urban administration and development, Madhya Pradesh, Maya Singh, was received by Ujjain Development Authority (UDA) chairman Jagdish Agrawal and chief executive officer Abhishek Dubey at circuit house. During her stay, she was given an insight into the various projects run by UDA, in a Power Point presentation. Detailed information on the proposed ‘divyang park’, green house projects and solar power plants was given. She was also detailed on the recently held awas-mela organised by UDA where many benefits were provided to beneficiaries, particularly easy finance facilities by banks on properties developed by UDA.
