Ujjain: Preparations for the BJP’s highly pushy Jan Ashirwad Yatra were reviewed by Union minister Narendra singh Tomar on Tuesday along with other stalwart leaders of the party. The BJP will begin canvassing for the upcoming assembly elections through this ‘yatra,’ in the poll bound state on Saturday from Nanakheda Stadium.
Union minister Tomar held a high-level meeting with party men and public representatives. Addressing the meeting, the minister stated that the Jan Ashirwad Yatra was not a party’s programme, rather a public programme in which the Chief Minister and other senior party leaders will seek blessings from the public to form a Government once again in the State.
Prabhat Jha, State home and transportation minister Bhupendrasingh, energy minister Paras Jain, MP Chintamani Malviya, mayor Meena Jonwal, incharge of the ‘yatra’ Jagdish Agrawal, MLAs and other senior leaders were also present. Tomar insisted that party workers invite each and every family and individual of the city to attend the programme as the party president Amit Shah will also address the grand function along with other leaders.
Prabhat Jha addressed the meeting and said all invitees should be attended to properly during the inauguration of the ‘yatra’. The ‘yatra’ will last till 55 days and go though all assembly seats across the state. Bhupendra Singh also motivated party workers during his address.
BJP district head Iqbalsingh Gandhi and Shyam Bansal outlining the details of Jan Ashirwad Yatra said the city dwellers will be invited from Wednesday to attend the programme by the party workers. People in large numbers are also expected to attend the programme around the other districts of the State, he added.
