Ujjain: On the second day of the three day state level inter-university youth festival organised by Vikram University with the help of higher education department, Madhya Pradesh Government, competitions in various streams were held on Friday.
These streams included solo, mimicry, solo singing – simple and classical, instrumental and non-instrumental, speech, debate, posters and sculptures. In these competitions, youth of different universities of the state displayed their creative skills in the field of acting, dance, design, speech and singing.
On the first evening, cultural programmes were organised. The former and present talented students who made Vikram University proud at the national level performed in the programme. Ashish Mehta and group performed musical Malkhambh and Yoga. Single classical Kathak dance was performed by young dancer Dr Pallavi Kishan. The artists also gave performances on Malwa’s traditional wedding songs and customs under the direction of Dr Kishan.
A solo kathak performance was given by university’s former student Hina Wassen of New Delhi. Vice-chancellor Prof Sheel Sindhu Pandey and Madhurima Pandey honoured the artistes by presenting a shawl and bouquet. The guests were welcomed by organising committee president Prof HP Singh, proctor Prof Shailendra Kumar Sharma and dean, students welfare, Dr Rakesh Dhand. Mayank Shukla conducted the programme.
