As the weekend takes over, Lakme Fashion Week gets all the more sultry and glamorous. With Bollywood beauties Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari and Shruti Hassan grabbing eyeballs at the ramp, the third day saw some distinctive and out of the ordinary collection by designers like Jayanti Reddy, Nishka Lulla and Payal Singhal.
Aiman Agha’s collection showcased an artistic experimentation of symbolic motifs of love and struggle immaculately embroidered on crisp modern silhouettes.
Anushree revealed the breath-taking Hyderabad with a stimulating new collection which drew its inspiration from the glorious Mughal dynasty in India. The fabrics used were the purest of silks, mulmul, and fine cottons handcrafted into elaborate silhouettes.
Actress Shruti Hassan walked the ramp for Anushree Reddy wearing an exquisite Ivory woven Chanderi Lehenga with intricate scalloped handmade zardozi with a dash of floral in the most delicate pastel lily print.
Antar – Agni by Ujjawal Dubey showcased its new spring summer line with unmatched proportion, disconnected layers and slits in a palette of white, dull green, light grey and navy blue that made the collection breezy and perfect of the much dreaded Indian summer.
Vrisa by Rahul N Shikha
Rahul and Shika’s ‘Vrisa’ label paid homage to everything beautiful in the interiors of Rajasthan and Kutch through their collection ‘Ahir’. The two pristine crafts like Rajasthan’s Bandhani and Kutch embroidery came together to create marvellous magic on the ramp.
Jayanti’s collection was inspired by the chic in the classic, the unusual in the traditional. It celebrated India’s vintage weaves and dyes even as it crafts them for the modern eye. It evoked something that is timeless – ‘Sita’, but with a contemporary streak – “Siaa”.
Actress Aditi Rao Hydari graced the ramp wearing an off white Chanderi lehenga with antique beaten zardosi embroidery and a key hole choli with a grand chanderi dupatta.
