Ujjain: Newly-elected students council sworn in at JPS’s investiture ceremony

Ujjain: Jain Public School (JPS), Barnagar hosted its investiture ceremony for the newly elected cabinet of students’ council for the session 2018-19. The ceremony was coupled with an awareness camp on the issue of child abuse. The newly elected prefects pinned up badges and were administered an oath of office and confidentiality.

The chief guest of the programme, Aayog Mitra of Human Rights Jayesh Rajpurohit in his address briefed students about the POCSO Act and protection of sexual offences. The ceremony was presided over by BJP city president Abhay Tongya. Guest of honour, ASI Badnawar Sushila Thakur in her address underlined the need of making girls empowered so that they can face the challenges. ASI Badnawar Sanjay Purohit also graced the occasion. School CEO Satanand Dubey delivered the welcome address.

Guests conferred badges and sashes upon newly elected head boy Ashutosh Patidar, head girl Anvesha Dubey, deputy head boy Shubham Patidar, deputy head girl Anjali Jaiswal, school sports captains Alekh Pal and Yashika Sharma, knowledge house captain Ayush Porwal, vice-captain Kawalka Panwar, skills house captain Harsh Jat, vice-captain Divya Jat, values house captain Prerna Chawda, vice-captain Jayansh Gehlot, growth house captain Rahul Upadhyay and vice-captain Kashish Porwal. Office-bearers of environment and community service club, English and Hindi literary clubs, IT, discipline, art and craft, music and dance, yoga and aerobics clubs were also given badges by the invitees. Cadets of the four houses performed a scintillating march past. Senior class students left the audience spellbound with their outstanding pyramid formations performed under the guidance of sports teacher Akhilesh Soni.


Principal Indu Punjabi administered an oath to newly elected cabinet members and presented the vote of thanks. Director Ankit Vohra extended greetings to the office-bearers. Sanjana Jat and Prakhar Kabra compered the programme. The ceremony was organised under the direction of CCA in-charge Rahul Chakrakar.
