Indore: Update voter list of state assembly polls 2018, collector tells district election officers


Indore: As the state assembly elections draw closer, the office of district returning officer has stepped up its preparations. At a meeting of the revenue officers (RO meeting) held at collectorate on Tuesday, district returning officer Nishant Warwade said special campaign should be launched by revenue officers to update the voter list.

He said that the vacant posts of booth level officers should be filled within one week. All booth level officers (BLO) will be given special training. The duty of assistant returning officers is to update the voter list by deleting names of dead people and those who have shifted out of Indore district. “Names of new voters should be added. No eligible person should be left out in the voter list,” he said.

 Giving further directions, collector Warwade asked officers to demarcate land by running a special campaign in the districts. He said demarcation and mutation in land records should be carried out within time limit. He said encroachments should be removed by running a special campaign in the district.  The collector also said that residential lease should be granted to eligible people by running a special campaign.

Additional collectors Nidhi Nivedita, Kailash Wankhede, SDMs Aditya Garg, Shashwat Sharma, Rakesh Sharma, Shalini Shrivastav, Bihari Singh,  tehsildars, nayab tehsildars, superintendent of land records were present in the meeting.
