Indore: Silawat murder Police conduct multiple raids to nab killers


Indore: City police on Monday raided various places in the city and its outskirts to nab the murderers of Jitendra Silawat, who was shot dead by four persons over dispute in illegal liquor business in Bhawna Nagar under Tejaji Nagar police station area on Sunday.

According to police, the accused had called Silawat for talks over the dispute and killed him following heated arguments. The accused identified as Lakhan, Bunti, Kamal and Ravi, are also involved in illegal liquor business. Family members of Silawat had also created ruckus at MY Hospital after his death and police had to intervene for controlling the situation.

A case under Section 302, 34 of IPC and 24, 27 of Arms Act has been registered against the accused.

Police said that the accused and the deceased had dispute over the issue since long time and they had clashes earlier. Family members and friends of accused were detained for interrogation to get clue of the accused’s whereabouts. However, the killers are still out of police’s reach.

Man commits suicide

A 42-year-old man committed suicide by hanging self in Khudel police station area on Monday morning. What drove him to take the extreme step is not yet known while the police have sent his body for post-mortem. According to the police, the deceased was identified as Paramanand, temple priest by profession. His son was also in the house at the time of the incident as Paramanand hanged himself from the ceiling of his room. He was rushed to the nearest hospital after his son discovered the incident but doctors declared him brought dead. Police have recorded statements of his family members to know the exact reason which forced him to commit suicide.

Heavy work pressure forces woman to hang self

A woman committed suicide by hanging self at her residence at Dhanwantari Nagar in Rajendra Nagar on Monday morning. Archana Vaidya, a stenographer at ITI, Indore committed suicide allegedly due to work pressure. According to a family member, Archana was alright till Monday morning but after serving tea to her husband, she went in her room and hanged self. Exact reason of her step couldn’t be known and no suicide note was recovered from the scene. Police have started an investigation after registering a case.
