Indore: The city will get two weekly Humsafar Express trains for Hyderabad and holy city of Jagannath Puri from next month. Nagesh Namjoshi, ex-member of Passenger Amenities Committee of Railways Board, said the city will get two full AC-III tier trains for the first time. Weekly Indore-Hyderabad train will run from the city on every Saturday, while Indore-Jagannath Puri train will run on every Tuesday.
Indore MP and Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan is likely to flag off trains on May 12 and 13. The route of Indore-Hyderabad train will be Dewas, Ujjain, Nagda, Ratlam, Vadodra, Surat, Vasai Road, Panvel, Karjat, Pune, Dond, Wadi and Sholapur. The train will depart for Hyderabad from the city on Saturday afternoon and reach Hyderabad on Sunday evening.
From Hyderabad, it will depart on Sunday evening and reach city on Monday night. Humsafar train will depart for Puri on Tuesday and reach there on Thursday. Same day, it will depart from there and reach city on Saturday morning. The train’s route has not been declared yet.
Indore-Hyderabad train will connect three IT cities, that is, Indore, Pune and Hyderabad. A large number of software engineers of city work in Pune and Hyderabad. Presently, they have to take trains from Bhopal or take a bus. For Jagannath Puri, passengers catch train from Ujjain or Bhopal. Railway minister Piyush Goyal had given approval to start these trains in a meeting with Mahajan at her residence in New Delhi on Wednesday.
