Presenting new theme, Shri Siddh Vijay Ganesha Mandir at Mari Mata Square attracts thousands of devotees. The Ganesha idol acquires a new form everyday to give a message. One of the most popular themes that highlights the celebration was ‘Go Green’. In this theme, the metal idol was covered by mud and cow dung mix. Moreover, the entire setting was transformed using green lights for the day. Another style depicting purity and peace was created using rice and making a white Ganesha. Surrounded by colourful flowers, the idol looked traditional.

Giving a view of Khajrana Ganesha, the idol was decorated with ‘sindhur’ on first day and dressed in blue velvet and yellow Chanderi attire.  In Kashmiri attire theme, Ganesha looked charming in saffron decoration. The sparkling white attire was decorated with floral embroidery. Making Kashmiri design stand out with tulips, the cloth was used to carve Ganesha’s large ears.

To surprise their visitors, the organising committee will use dry fruits, mawa, flowers and many other food items to decorate the idol. Organiser Golu Shukla said surprises are a great way to draw people from all walks of life. The major attraction that makes Siddh Vijay Ganesha stand out is the temporary amusement park beside it. To make it lively, amusement rides from Ferris wheel to roller coasters have been installed. Further, there is mini-carnival organised for visitors. Another major attraction that makes Ganeshotsav special is use of lights. Colourful lights are used to decorate streets, pandals, amusement rides and carnival. These lights change colours based on the day’s theme.
