Indore: 30,000 government employees to be deployed for election work


Preparations for the forthcoming assembly elections are in full swing in the district. Around 30,000 government officers and staff will be deployed for making different arrangements in the district for the elections. The services of these employees will be taken as polling parties, counting parties, sector magistrate, for election material distribution, etc. Department wise and office wise list of employees is being prepared for the election duty.

This was informed in a review meeting of Nodal Officers chaired by collector Nishant Varvda at collector office on Tuesday. Additional collector Nidhi Nivedita, Kailash Wankhede and ADM Ajay Dev Sharma were also present in the meeting. It was informed in the meeting that 26 nodal officers have been appointed to oversee the poll-related tasks. These nodal officers have been asked to complete assigned tasks with perfection. No negligence will be tolerated in election work, the collector said.


Warwade also reviewed availability of human resources, vehicles, etc for the elections. He asked the officials to prepare list of all departments and duties of employees as per requirement and give them necessary training. Ninety seven master trainers have been appointed to train the employees in the district. Warwade also directed all the SDMs and CSPs to jointly examine facility for polling stations in their respective areas and prepare a list of vulnerable and critical polling booths. The officers are also asked to make physical verification of polling stations in their respective areas.
