Indore: Two persons were killed after a speeding car hit them on four-lane road on Monday. They were returning home when the accident occurred. The police have sent the body for autopsy and a search is on for errant car driver.
According to the police, the incident took place near Pigdambar village on four-lane road at 5 pm. The deceased have been identified as 37-year-old Kailash from Deori (Sagar district) and his friend Santan Singh, 32, a resident of Pithampur. They were on a bike and returning home when a speeding car hit them in which the duo was critically injured.
Sources said that Kailash died on the spot while Santan Singh died during treatment in MY hospital. Kailash was employed in a company in Pithampur. The police informed his family members about the incident and registered a case against the errant driver. The police are also collecting the information about the incident and the car driver from the spot.
In another incident, an elderly woman died after being hit by a vehicle on Dhar Road on Monday. Police said that deceased Shakina Bi, 70, a resident of Rani Palace Colony, was crossing the road when a recklessly driven vehicle hit her. The driver fled the scene. The woman was taken to the hospital where she died during treatment.
Family members of deceased told the police that she was on way to meet her daughter in the area and was crossing the road when the accident occurred.
