Garage owner, mechanic arrested for buying stolen cars

Indore: City crime branch on Sunday arrested an auto garage owner and his employee in connection with buying stolen four-wheelers and using their parts in other cars. Parts of a stolen swift car were also recovered from his.

According to ASP (crime) Amarendra Singh, a tip-off was received that two persons were indulged in buying stolen cars and using its parts in damaged cars of their customers. Following the information, a crime branch team started investigation and it was found that the accused are going to sell the remaining parts of stolen car to a scrap dealer in Loha Mandi area.

A joint team of crime branch and Juni Indore police cordoned off the area and managed to arrest the accused from near Loha Bhawan in Loha Mandi area. The accused were identified as Abdul Rauf, a resident of Multani Ring Road Masjid, Khajrana and Imran of Habib Colony. The parts of a stolen swift car were also recovered from them.

During questioning, the accused told the police that Rauf runs an auto garage near his residence in Khajrana and Imran works there as a mechanic. They had bought the car from a person from UP a few days ago. After that they used its body, door, glass, wiring in accident cars of their customers. They were taking the remaining parts to sell someone in Loha Mandi. Police are also collecting information about the scrap shop where the accused were going to sell the parts.

Juni Indore police have booked the accused under relevant Sections and they are being questioned further.
