CM Yogi ‘leaves’ date of construction of Ayodhya Ram temple on Ram himself

Lucknow : Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday said the date for construction of a grand Ram temple will be set by Lord Ram himself.

Speaking at a conclave in the state capital, organised by a newspaper, the monk-turned-politician said what has to happen at a given time will happen at that time only. “No body can stop if once it is ordained by the gods.”

The chief minister said the people were hopeful that a grand Ram temple will be built in Ayodhya in the state and “Lord Ram will decide its date”.


“A grand Ram temple will be built in Ayodhya. The people are very hopeful. Ramji will decide its date. But, it will be built definitely,” he said.

He also pointed out how previous state governments were afraid of visiting the temple town of Ayodhya.

To a question on education, the Chief Minister said for years a section of the society was being deprived of modern and technical education and his government is committed to changing it.

In another event in Mathura, the saffron-clad chief minister said on Saturday special arrangement for upkeep of stray cows, dogs, monkeys and birds would be made at every Nagar Nigam of the state.

“Upkeep of stray cows, monkeys, dogs, birds has started in Lucknow and gradually the scheme would start in other Nagar Nigams,” he said, after inaugurating and laying foundation stone for various schemes worth Rs 346.74 crore for development of Brijbhumi. He also stressed the need to not releasing the cows on the street.
