Vijaypura: Minister for Kannada and Culture Umashree today said that Chief Minister had sanctioned an additional grants of Rs 3 crore for providing monthly pension to drama artistes. Inaugurating Ranga Sammelana here organized by Karnataka Natak Academy here today at Kandagal Hanumantharay Ranga Mandir, she said state government has earmarked Rs 1.65 crore for incentive to encourage professional drama theaters.
Underlining need of new concept to professional drama field, she said companies should make hard efforts to develop the field by introducing new stories. She opined that drama companies should work for exposing talents and attract them for the field. She recalled her participation in professional dramas during 1977 period and said that old dramas should give up and new should come up.
