Bhopal: A south Indian film actor Karthika Nair who is playing lead role of ‘Devsena’ of Star Plus upcoming show ‘Aarambh’ was in the city on Thursday. It is noteworthy here that ‘Devsena’ is lead and popular character of super hit movie “Bahubali’. K V Vijayendra Prasad.
Talking to media persons at Hotel Courtyard by Marriott, the actor said, “I was first approached by producer of the show Goldie Behl. I got a call from his office and I was surprised about how they got my number. Initially I said no, since TV is much smaller than films. Then I got call from Vijendra sir’s office and said that I should at least hear the story. When I realised it was a limited episode series, there was no looking back. My character is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. In a male dominated industry, it is tough to get a powerful role. You don’t get roles like these in films as there is too much competition. “Now I am feeling lucky to be part of the show. The story goes back to the time when the Dravidians ruled over the Indian subcontinent and the Aryans, the nomads from the west, were in search of Saptsindhu, the fertile land they had always heard about. The story of the show is so big that five films like Bahubali can be made,” Nair added.
Speaking about the acting journey, the actor said, “My parents are my role model. My mother is also actor and I got huge support from my mother.” From Star Plus and the writer of Bahubali & Bahubali2, K V Vijayendra Prasad, comes this magnum opus show, the story of which narrates the clash of two civilizations born and built out of two different existential needs; one desperately wanting what the other had and the other fighting to defend what they believed to be rightfully theirs.
