Bentley’s five-doors, four-seat SUV, Bentayga is all set to be launched in India. Making its global debut at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show last year, Bentley Bentayga production commenced later same year on 27th November at their state of the art plant in Crewe, England.
Bentley Bentayga kerb weight stands at 2,422 kgs while GVW is at 3,250 kgs. This means, this over 3-ton vehicle, which has the most luxurious interiors for an SUV ever, does 0-97 kmph in just 4 seconds before hitting a top speed of 301 kmph! This makes Bentayga the only production SUV breach the 300 kmph mark today.
Fuel efficiency claimed stands at 7.63 kmpl. Expect about 3-4 kmpl on Indian road conditions and probably even less while you are flooring the accelerator pedal. However, those who are going to own Bentayga, don’t really keep a tab of ‘kitna deti hain’. For them, it will be worth noting that fuel tank capacity stands at just 85 liters. This should be good enough for a driving range of 200 kms on a full tank of fuel.
Power comes from a 6.0 liter W12 twin-turbo TSI engine which generates 600 hp and 900 Nm torque. Transmission is taken care by a 8-speed auto-box which transmits power and torque to all four wheels via a smart all-wheel drive system.
