On the occasion of Teachers’ Day, the Higher Education Forum (HEF) recognises and felicitates teachers for their meticulous efforts and continuous contribution to the field of education.
Like every year, the Higher Education Forum (HEF) recognised and felicitated teachers for their continuous contribution and efforts towards the education field. The founders of HEF along with stalwarts of the education field congratulated teachers at the eighth annual Teachers’ Day award ceremony hosted on September 9 at the Indian School of Design and Innovation, (ISDI) Lower Parel in association with the Indian School of Management and Entrepreneurship (ISME).
The members of HEF felicitated 23 educators mainly teachers and contributors to the field of education from varied fields. The event was inaugurated by the traditional lighting of the lamp and presided over by HEF Founder and Convener Dr. A K Sen Gupta and other senior members of the forum.
The welcome note by Dr Heena Thakkar, Vice Dean of the ISME, highlighted the whole idea of studying in India and improving the education scenario of the country. Focussing on the honour of hosting the third consecutive award ceremony, Thakkar stated that ISME is proud to acknowledge the achievements of teachers. Thakkar said, “Good quality teaching, infrastructure and facilities for learning are the key factors of the education scenario of India. We encourage the concept of Skill India and Start up India by moulding students and providing them the best of facilities.”
Gupta drew light on the importance of the role of teachers and the significance of their contribution. “Teachers are the most important fulcrum of the socio economic development of the people. Unfortunately most of the work that a teacher does often goes unrecognised so we at HEF want to recognise this work. We want to celebrate the life and hard work of teachers that help mould students into successful individuals,” he added.
Since the last eight years, the HEF has recognised and awarded over 150 teachers for their contribution. “We want everyone to help HEF so that we can grow and reach out to more people. Let us not bother about what others are doing but we should do our bit to help students and enlighten lives,” Gupta appealed.

HEF also felicitated its members like Dr C S Adhikari Former Dean-Academics, ITM Business School; Dr Ravindra Pratap Gupta CEO, Oriental Institute of Management; Prof Rajesh K Nair Faculty, SIES College of Management Studies; and Dr Swati Kulkarni Faculty, SIES College of Management Studies for their contribution to HEF.
