Two women complain of dowry harassment

Indore : A 24-year-old housewife has lodged a dowry harassment complaint against her husband and in-laws with women police station on Saturday. No arrests have been made yet.

Police station incharge inspector Jyoti Sharma said that victim Divya Sisodiya of Chhota Bangarda area stated in her complaint that she got married with Yogendra Sisodiaya of Shajapur in November 2016. After one-and-half months, her father-in-law and mother-in-law started harassing her for dowry.

Later, Yogendra and his parents started demanding a car and her husband also threatened her that he will divorce her if her parents did not give a car. Divya further stated that Yogendra has an extra marital affair. The woman’s parents pacified the accused but did not last long as Yogendra against started harassing both physically and mentally Divya. This forced her to go back to her parents’ home.


In another such incident, a woman has filed a complaint against her husband and his sister for dowry harassment. Police said that Khushboo Soni of Gandhi Nagar lodged a complaint stating that she is being harassed for dowry. The complainant got married to Bhavesh in May 2016 and after two months, Bhavesh and his sister Deepa began to harass her for petty issues. Later they demanded dowry from her parents. Police have booked the duo under relevant Sections of dowry harassment and started an investigation into the case.

Pickpockets make away with Rs 46,500

Pickpockets targeted three persons and made away with Rs 46,500 near collector office on Friday. Kaid Johar has filed a complaint with Raoji Bazaar police staff that during a religious rally, unidentified pickpockets took away money and other documents from his pocket. He stated that Rs 3,500, credit card, ATM card and PAN card were stolen from his pocket while Rs 40,000 was stolen from his friend Syed Shahid Ali and Rs 3000 from Sudhir Kothari’s pocket were stolen by unidentified thieves.
