Parents should start teaching about sex education to their children from the age of one and half years.
Indore: Instead of saying it sex education, people must say it as ‘ Growing- up Education’. Every parent must start teaching their children about sex from the age of one and half years. This was stated by adolescent and teenage expert of Indrapasth Apollo Hospital, New Delhi, Dr Swati Bhave.
During presentation on “ Adolescents and Nutrition,” Dr Bhave said that by terming it as sex education, people misinterpret the very important subject and lead it towards wrong direction. “ It must be called ‘ Growing- up Education’ and like informing the children about any other body part, the parents should inform them about private parts by touching it.
However, they must also teach them about the sense of right touch and wrong touch,” she said. Coming on nutrition and diet of teenagers, Dr Bhave said that girls with deficiency of iron lead to Caesarean delivery at the time of pregnancy.
